Since the last months, this has now become a folklore (practice) here on yashvinblogs.com.
Upon the announcement of the prices of petroleum products by the Automatic Pricing Mechanism, I have been posting these updates within the next hours.
So, as illustrated above, the new prices applicable for the month of March 2009 are as follows:
Diesel : Decreased to Rs 32.30/L
Essence : Unchanged, i.e Rs36.65/L

Its great to have someone tracking the Automatic Pricing Mechanism and their decisions.
Waking up today, the first thing I wanted to know is about the updated prices being displayed at the refill stations.
Essence is unchanged.
maybe I would blog on the Economics aspect of the Automatic Pricing Mechanism -> how they determine the prices, why is it called automatic (invisible hand), etc etc
But still obtain the latest updated prices is great! Keep watching out đŸ˜€

People just don’t get it when comparing the price of petrol with diesel. A diesel engine is uses 20-30% less than petrol… means it costs much lower to run modern diesel engines (year 2000 and up) than petrol… When will the taxes be reduced on diesel cars… I know, it’s a bit irrelevant… but hey, you’d do Rs 1.60-2.00/km instead of Rs 2.00-3.00/km.
