Latest updates from Triolet.

triolet

First of all, while looking for some stuff a few days ago, I was surprised to see that even Wikipedia has an article on Triolet lol and a group on facebook! nice!

Update 1

Yesterday, I read that Triolet has a new she-president in the brand new village council locals. That’s great news! [source]

Update 2

Also, in the same article from l’express, there are roughly about 23,300 trioliens! btw, for those who missed some days during primary school, Triolet is the longest village in Mauritius.

Update 3

There’s a new speed hump in the “Anand Square”, and unfortunately, it is the new model! Personally, I avoid passing through this speed hump!

Humps (at Palma)

Humps (at Palma)

Update 4

Our prime minister is celebrating his 62nd anniversary today.

Best wishes to him ;)

[lol! c akoz line elu triolet ki li dans sa section la]

Update 5

Some new companies moves to Triolet in the ex-Mamouth, TFP, some cloth factory shop building.

I am not sure, but it seems that the Bramer Bank as well as BAI will have their offices there. ATMs have already been installed and large logos have been placed on the building.

Haha, I think it is the most unlucky building in Triolet. After being occupied by Mamouth for years, TFP moved in followed by other companies, but they had to close down their shutters after a few months.

Lets hope that this change brings some chance!

Just a little note ; SBM, MCB, First City Bank, Banque des Mascareignes, Winners, Shell, Total, Courts, JKalachand, IBL Domestic Appliances, Galaxy, Mauritius Telecom and MTML Offices.

These are some of the companies which are already present in the village. In addition to these, there are also about 3 bakeries, a fire station, a police station, a post office ( + other usual govt offices), loads of pre-primary, primary schools and colleges.

Update 6

The abandoned pumping station found besides the Police Station is back into operation! From what I noticed, Shell has re-opened the station and is already operational, if am not mistaken.

Trioliens surely remember that each time they entered the station for a refill, the answer was 90% “Pena l’essence!”

Update 7

btw, Triolet has loads of bloggers :P

Thats all for this session of “Triolet Today”, Cheers!

    Hi,
Thats a good description of Triolet. I’m very proud to live there too. I think you forgot to add DBM bank. And also at Triolet, you will find the biggest Hindu temple here – the Maheshwarnath temple. The temple was constructed in the year 1819 in honor of the Gods Shiva, Vishnu, Krishna, Brahma, Ganesha, and Muruga. The Maheshwarnath temple is the biggest temple on the island.

Please also note that the village was the starting point for the first Maha Shivarathri pilgrimage. The pilgrimage began when a resident of Triolet Shivala had a vision of a sacred lake surrounded by dense forests. A group of sages set out to find that sacred lake. They discovered the lake and called it Ganga Talao which is also known as the Grand-Bassin, which literally means the big lake. Since then all Hindus of Mauritius gather at this river every year to pray to God Shiva on Maha Shivarathri day, which usually occurs in the month of February.

Hey you missed the new Hare Rama Hare Krishna Mandir called Dwarka Dham found at 9th Mile.

Its worth visiting, its maybe much more bigger than the size of the famous Shivala.

Another point is that I am pretty much surprised (and its good) to see perfect competition in triolet in terms of the opening of so many bakeries/ patisseries. Fini la monopolie de “central bakery” – Trois Boutiques

Your forgot to mention about the new market of Triolet at Bonair Road. I think that Triolet is the only village that has so many vegetable sellers along the main road which discourage people to go to the market on sunday morning.

soon the people of Triolet will have another private school like Le Nid along the link road from Triolet Police Station to Bonair Road. The school is supposed to be running as from January 2010. Also, there will be a swimming pool and a gym that the government is planning to build along that road before the market.

I’ll definitely mention this to my small group of friends who have always left Triolet early morning and come back late (for college students, that is)
