Yeah, I am the birthday boy today :-)

“Calendrier des activités” :

Friday 19th March 2010 : Suffren (Pretexte l’anniversaire with Nitin and Vissen!)

Saturday 20th March 2010 : Home (Expression : Reculer pour mieux sauter :P )

Sunday 21th March 2010 : Direction Ile aux Cerfs.

Monday 22th March 2010 : A day with Dhaneesha… (We did not go to work :P )

The Ile Aux Cerfs trip

The day at sea was nice! My first time to Ile aux Cerfs lol. (wai, c vraie!)

It was planned only 3 days before! Fortunately, we did get a nice package at Rs800 per person. A speed boat picked us at Blue Bay at 930hrs and we “flew” near the islands around till we stopped on a spot… Seated at the back of the boat, I did not understand why, since I did not hear what the skipper was saying until I saw Dolphins! Yeah, they swam near the boat, very near!!! Mind blowing experience!

Then, equipped with diving masks, some of us had the opportunity to swim with tons of fishes. I was so nice to swim over the corals, with fishes staring at you with their eyes big open :P

At around 1230hrs, we reached Ile aux Cerfs where we had “Grillade Poule et Poisson” for most of us. We made the tour of the island and we stopped somewhere else to swim… I loved the view of the “Pailles en queues” flying at only some metres from the land sand and sea.

Thanks to Dhaneesha, Zainab, Mantasha, Jaya, Fadil, Splash, Ashutosh, Kreshma, Sabine, Dakshinee and Yogesh for being part of this day…

And the birthday cake?

As usual, Zainab did something nice again lol. She took care to bring a TINY piece of cake with a candle with her for the surprise :P

So, they sang the “happy birthday” song right in the middle of the sea lol. If you still remember, 2 years back, I had the same surprise “birthday cake” in the middle of the Black River Gorges forest :P btw, thanks for the gifts (@Zainab and @Sabine)

Dhaneesha and her mom also offered me a bigger birthday cake today :-)

A HUGE ONE!!!

After cutting the cake, we drove along the western coast and had a nice time together! Yeah, we were both on leave today. I also received a nice gift from her. No, it is not camera lenses :P lol

Don’t worry dear colleagues, please claim your birthday cake tomorrow, at work :P

As for my other friends, please share yourself… on the blog :-)

Thanks Dou! It tastes……… WOW! Unfortunately, non-veg birthday cake for those who are fasting…

The post comes to an end here, but life goes on, better and better… Happy Birthday to me again! :-)

    Hmm ile aux cerfs .. everyone in my family went there atleast twice .. and i have never gone till now .. does it deserve the travel from port louis to belle mare and take a boat to the island ? just wondering .. your opinion is welcomed :)

    I was not really interested to go there neither. The beach is 5-10mins from my home and I rarely go there. But things have changed since I bought my camera. I planned the trip since I wanted to do something special on my birthday’s eve. To answer your question : I did enjoy the speed boat trip and the sight of the dolphins more than the island itself. The pailles en queues were nice too, I never saw them from so near before.

    I can say that the trip was something out of the usual things I do during my free time.
    I would recommend it if you have visited most places and coastal roads of the island :-)

    I have indeed visited most places and coastal roads of the island .. but going on a boat, to land on a smaller scaled mauritius doesn’t sound that interesting to me!specially that my camera is broken since months ! lolz.. hihihi
    Maybe i would go there one day, but without much conviction i must say.. Apart from rodrigues n reunion or seychelles.. the mauritians rarely go to holidays on other islands lolz.. (finking of hawaii, haiti, papeete, french micronesia..)

    Oh.. Once more, Happy Birthday to you, .. just in case you are finking that i forgot, i already wished on your fb wall :P lolz..

    Seeing dolphins is an amazing experience I agree. But feeling them next to you and swimming with them is even better :o Can we swim with dolphins in Mauritius??

For my 23rd bday I organised a trip to Ile aux Aigrettes which was awesome [though we did not see any dolphins there].
