NO PRICE CHANGE, again!

Wow! Been long time since I last posted on the price of petrol! That was back in March 2011! In fact, the Petroleum Pricing Committee previously met on the 27 December 2011 but since there wasn’t any price change (and I was a bit busy), so I did not really care to write about that.

Some of you might be surprised since there was no blog post dedicated to the monthly price update of petroleum products, as it has been the case since 2 years now. From the information I could gather, it seems that the next price update will be in January 2011, i.e. on a 3months basis. The last price update in October 2010 gave a rise to the price of “essence” (Rs44.70/L) while the price of diesel remained unchanged (Rs35.50/L). The media started to talk about this subject during the week but I was surprised to see that there was no follow up, no additional information was published.

Here’s the graph that I have been feeding with values for the last 2 years :

Anyways, I will miss writing this article, every beginning of each month as it has been the case for the last 2years but you can trust yashvinblogs.com, you will be updated with the prices at the right time ;)

New monthly price update, here it goes :

As you have noticed, the price of diesel has been unchanged exceptionally. Else, “Essence” has gone up again by Rs2.05, following the yoyo theory, lol.

Ceci dit, les membres de l’Automatic Pricing Mechanism s’est réuni de nouveau aujourd’hui afin de déterminer les nouveaux prix des produits pétroliers (via defimedia), qui seront en vigueur pendant ce mois d’Août:

The “Comité des Certifications de la STC”  has announced the price of petroleum products, applicable for the month of July 2010 :

Finally a decrease! But for how long? lol

Some changes, blogged on a previous post :

  • Mr Somarooa is not in the Committee anymore,
  • His contract as the head of the STC will be renewed on a monthly basis
  • Mauritius has signed another 3yr contract with the same supplier, Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd.

June 2010 update :

L’essence : Rs 43.15/L -> Rs46.35/L (+ Rs3.20)

Diesel : Rs 36.95/L -> Rs39.70/L (+ Rs 2.75)

Ene zaffaire mo pas comprend…

Kifer eski kant STC faire loss akoz zotte incompetence, c Mauriciens ki bisin payer? Depi des années, prix l’essence p monter dans le monde, mais akoz bane nimportes ki prend decisions, maurice gagne 1 plus grand augmentation.

C pas plitot ene movaise decision ki zotte prend et ki bisin sanctionne zotte akoz perte ki zotte faire pays (et consommateurs) payer?

(En passant, zamais zotte faire profit pu ki zotte baisse prix la considerablement,  c juste ene show sa)

Yes, it followed the “yoyo” trend, i.e. going up and down every month…

The price of petroleum products for the month of May 2010 are

L’essence :Rs 46.65/L -> Rs 43.15/L (-Rs3.50/L)

Diesel : Rs 34.40/L – Rs 36.95/L  (+Rs2.55/L)

The monthly review of prices has been carried out much later than usual because of the general elections held on the 5th May 2010.

I thought that both prices will remain unchanged this month :(

L’essence : Rs 43.40/L ->Rs 46.65/L

Diesel : Rs 34.40/L – Unchanged

I bet that the next review of prices on 2nd or 3rd May 2010 will be either a decrease or unchanged for both essence n diesel :-)

Announced a few minutes ago :

L’essence : Rs 43.40/L – Unchanged!

Diesel : Rs 32.65/L – Increased to Rs34.40/L
