The group members organized quite a few events in the past (Catamaran, 24/7 night out, Shooting in Port Louis among others)  and today, we met Chez Pepe, Flic en Flac for lunch. 25 members turned up at the restaurant at around 1230… There was loads of things we talked about, for example photography, photography and photography. We tried to discuss about other things like photography and photography. Do I need to say that people around us most probably talked about photography too, lol!

I felt a bit “shy” with my 18-55mm lens when I was among those holding huge lens. One of the most amazing lens is the first one in the picture below : a 70-300mm lens which all of us had the opportunity to hold and shoot a few pics. Wow, it weighted so much but the weight does not really matter once you start playing with it

This part of the beach was crowded with girls and boys holding their big DSLRs and shooting everything which moved around…  Even the static objects were not spared!

Sorry to people out there in case you felt that we were a group of paparazzi!

Here’s the best moments of our bloggers’ event at Flic en Flac today!

Reaching the meeting point

After picking up Ashesh, Phirbhay and Saajid, I reached Flic en Flac at around 1015am together with my sis Dakshinee. Jevin and Morinn were already there. Along with Sundeep, we walked to Spar to buy some “gatos!” while Jevin and Morinn were hiding clues for the treasure hunt (Read below).

After some minutes, the Meetoo family (Avinash, Christina and their 2 lovely kids – Anya and Kyan ) reached Flic en Flac, followed by Stefan and her daughter Elody. Dhaneesha, and Sheran came next during the treasure hunt. Reena and Michel joined us around noon. Tushal showed his face for some mins around noon and joined us again nearly at the end of the day.Vissen and his cousin Kris also came for some mins, while Sun brought 3 of his friends to play some mins of football and Tushal brought another 2 friends in the evening. Kervin and Kevina also came along for a few hours. Lastly, Jean Francois and his friend (?) met us late in the evening too.

That makes 30 people ( including 18 bloggers )!

Of course, some came for a few minutes while most of us were present during the whole ‘bloggers’ event’.

The treasure hunt!

One of the best and well organised games ever by Jevin and Morinn. On their arrival, they had hidden clues on the beach and we had to find each of them till the final prize won by Sundeep!

Reena and Michel also did a great job but unfortunately, Sundeep found 3 of the 5 clues!

Rempli to bouteille dilo trouée!

This game consisted of filling your team’s bottle with the water you have been carrying from the sea. The nice part is that the bottle to carry water has 3 holes and water is dripping at an incredible speed! Very tiresome and this game made a first victim (Dakshinee) who cut herself with a coral while running to the sea.

The next great thing was the “banner” we made on the spot. Jevin, Morinn and myself had brought paint and a white piece of “la toile”. Reena helped a lot in drawing the letters and all of us participated by printing our hands onto the banner.

Only 3 days…

Morinn said it yesterday, we are going to be at Flic en Flac, somewhere near Manisa Hotel or the high-activity area where there are loads of restaurants, Shotz and Shooters etc… I dont see how I can give more details lol.

Dear Mauritian fellows,

Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras are being installed in a few regions of the country for our own security.

Flic en Flac is the first region to be covered with 83 cameras as from the 25th May 2009, with a cost of around 50 million rupees. Just to remind you, those cameras were of great help to solve a false kidnapping case filed a few weeks ago.

Port Louis seems to be in the next phase of the implementation of 271 CCTV cameras and 69 cameras for Grand Bay which are to be installed till the end of this year. Indeed, a few cameras have been spotted along the motorway (near Roche Bois).

This clearly indicates that the invasion installation has already started.

I firmly believe that this great initiative will help in protecting Mauritians and tourists. These cameras will surely make people think twice before trying to engage themselves in some illegal activity or robbery.

How do you welcome this decision of the government? Do you think that this will help to decrease the number of crimes in Mauritius?

Since the last weeks, there has been an explosion in the number of cases related to law and order.

Le constat est accablant!

Today itself, the body of the director of the Mahebourg’s museum has been discovered after his dissapearance 4 days ago.

Less than 1 week ago, a few college girls were found drunk in a college.

2 weeks ago, a drunk college student jumped out of the bus when the bus headed for the police station.

3 weeks ago, a group of people kidnapped a man and had put him into the car’s boot (coffre/box loto). But instead of opening the fuel’s tank in a petrol station, they carelessly opened the boot!

After all, human errs

However, this does not imply that all of them are genuine. Indeed, many of these cases have been found to be a complete set up of the behalf of the ‘victims’ themselves.

The unfortunate thief of the Naval Museum.

Some of you may not be aware, but very recently, a burglar trapped himself while trying to get away from the Naval Museum, want to know how?

Here is the part of the mail which is being sent over the internet since that day.

The suspect is alleged to have broken down the back door to the museum. The alarm went off, giving him a fright, and he ran away. He climbed a tree and then attempted to jump over the fence. However, he lost his footing and was impaled by one of the spikes on the fence. The man was discovered by a bus driver who heard his cries. The man was taken to J Nehru Hospital and it is understood that he is due to undergo surgery…

The youngest film director

Yes, we should call her a film director but I fear that she got only scolding in return. Aged only 9 years old, she ran away from her primary school and spent her day at Flic en Flac.

In the evening, she went back to her town and she invented a whole story in which she related that she was kidnapped, forced to enter a car and then was victim of sexual abuse.

The videos shot by the cameras of Flic en Flac were viewed by the police.

After the inquiry, it was found that the girl had been playing with tourists on the beach of Flic en Flac during the whole day.  She then confessed having ran away from school since her friends were teasing her and she begged to get some money to return back home by bus.

Relationship between a tourist and a mauritian woman

Everything started with a mistake while sending some texto. The tourist and the mauritian woman did not lose any time and decided to meet after only a few days. The mauritian (*who perhaps smelled money and good opportunity*) flirted with the tourist for some weeks. But when she learnt that the tourist did not want to marry her anymore, she filed a rape case against the guy.

Some thoughts from me…

The above mentioned are only a few cases, any of us can write over pages…

But who should we blame for all these?
Our society? Our constitution? Ourselves?

You may ultimately blame the government but do you believe that a reinforcement of the existing laws will solve all the problems?

I believe that each one of us are responsible for most of the happenings in this country. Unfortunately not all of us have the same objectives in life. While some are working hard to get money, others are simply sitting idle and getting allowances without any effort. (Genuine cases do exist)

Some get into drugs, and later say that they regret having done so… unfortunately after committing crimes, robberies… too late.

Put strict laws, different organisations will be in the front line to protest. Give more power to the police, there will be even more cases of police brutality.And at the end, you will hear about human rights commission…

The countdown came to an end exactly at midnight, while I was on the phone with Dhaneesha.

A few seconds after, all the lights went off, followed by the appearance of a birthday cake, full of candles which I did not even have time to blow properly since everyone sprayed their beer onto me, from all the sides!!!

This is only a few minutes of the 2 nights camping which came to an end a few hours ago!

As announced on my facebook profile, I was camping at Flic en Flac since Friday night, together with my uni friends and my colleagues :

Indeed, since the last years, my birthday celebrations has always been great and surrounded by my people.

The camping…

Generally, when camping somewhere with friends, we use to give a code name to the bungalow.

I decided to name this one “Campement neuf heures moins vingth“.

Why?

Simply because the only clock of the bungalow always showed the same time since our arrival lol!

One of our main stupid jokes was the time!

For example, whenever someone asked the time, the reply was always “neuf heures moins vingth“!

Another would ask “ki lere nu pu aller?” and the reply will again be “neuf heures moins vingth“!

Despite being only 3 persons on friday, Nitin, Dhota and myself had a blast since the first night itself!

After a nice dinner at Chez Pepe, we took a few drinks in Shots.

Back to the bungalow at around 2am, we started to play cards while enjoying our drinks and snacks for a few hours till we could not intake any more alcohol.

Early on saturday, Selven joined us, followed by Dhaneesha, Olivier, Michael, Vissen, Charles, Ashvin, Vishal, Krishna and Bernard!

Dhaneesha stayed with us for a few hours and then invited me for dinner in a resto, while the others enjoyed the spicy chicken of our chef, Nitin.

After dropping Dhaneesha at home, I came back to the bungalow where the party was still going stong!

As you can imagine;

drunk people = people + drinks + funny scenes + stupid jokes X great fun!

Disclamer : This is not always true lol.

As I wrote above, the cake cutting was done nearly at midnight, after which everyone began spraying their beer on me.

So, here is a short video of a few seconds.

This was followed by a few speeches done by Vissen, Nitin, Ashvin, Bernard, lol.

At 2am on sunday, we went for a swim in the pool and even there, so much happened and unfortunately I can’t relate everything to everyone.

We stayed nearly 2 hours in the water, with our bottles floating in the water, self service :p

Once everyone woke up in the morning, we set out for the beach for our lunch and a swim.

There was no lack of drinks nor snacks since we still had 1 bottle of Gin when leaving the bungalow.

Thanks for the wishes…

During the whole day, I kept receiving wishes through sms and phone calls and on my arrival at home this evening, I logged into my mail and facebook. I was over flooded with birthday wishes!!!

I am still getting new birthday wishes from everywhere!

Unfortunately I am not sure to be able to reply to everyone either through SMS or facebook message, but I would like to dedicate this post to everyone who wished me on this special day!

for a blogger, there are 3 things that may cause much irritation to himself

• when he doesnt get any comments

i think that all of us has at least once, complained about not having enough time, nor any ideas for the next blog post…

Quite busy at work, no time even to open facebook or msn messenger (hundreds of times like before, shuuutttt!!!) since i am currently working on web related sites, including an ecommerce shop

else, at home, i have been trying to mix up some songs since very long, but after nearly 2 months, i succeeded, in producing something a bit better…
a bit lengthy, anyway, its done after 2hrs of trials for today!
