@ mind you RRP is by no means a fixed price set by the authorities. But recommended by the manufacturer to be sold @ RRP. So there no legal actions which can be taken as they are not fixed.

Hmm this leaves possibilities for “blanchiment d’argent”, suppose i sell drugs, and i own a shop, say you want to buy Rs.1000 worth of drugs, to legalize the transaction, on my prices, i set yop’s price at Rs.1000, this way, buy your drugs, get a yop :p or buy your yop and get some drugs…. the authorities should think about this well …

In other countries there are the MRP (Maximum Retail Price) where the authorities enforce such laws and anyone not abiding to such can be jailed/fine. We do have such stuff which are fixed by the Authorities (Petrol and other some consumables de premiere nécéssité which are fixed by the authorities).

I’ve heard some of you mentioning Milk from China. Well this is a topic that we could talk for hours long. One thing that I would like to mention is : Humans are mammals. And all mammal when born are fed by there mother on milk till a certain age where they consume things other than milk. Nature did things its way that the mother stops producing milk after some time. Then why do we human who are mammals drink milk till we die. And we are the only mammal who does so :p

That’s what I meant…. the RRP for Yop is Rs 14.90, while the gross price should be around Rs 12.
& the retailers sell it for Rs 18. It’s plain theft! Making 50% profit?

with regards to paying a Yop @ Rs17-18 in retail outlets is based on the facts that retailers do not respect the RRP – RECOMMENDED RETAIL PRICE – settled by the Industry. This is the same reality for Coca-Cola beverages and all other soft drinks. Just try this out: Buy a Coke at the Beach, you will pay it around Rs23 or even more, and buy the same coke in any hypermarket, and you compare the price.

Retailers are simply not respecting the RRP settled. and We, consumers are the losers in all this.
