Technically, it's cheaper to refine diesel, so they'd always be cheaper (unless taxed a lot). Plus it pleases bus and lorry drivers, so the tax isn't going to be high anytime soon... Nek res pu amen sulphur-less diesel so that we can benefit from super-economical European diesel engines... Did you know that a 1.4L modern diesel is more economical than a 1.0L petrol?
