Ou peut être le discours de Paul Berenger diffusé sur Radio Plus dans lequel il a imité le ministre Anil Baichoo sur le sujet des nouvelles plaques d’immatriculation. C’était très humoristique (et très bien fait d’ailleurs). Maintenant, osez imaginer la scene avec Paul Berenger imitant les moindres gestes et expressions.

Une bonne majorité des politiciens prend un plaisir fou à amuser la gallérie en tournant leurs opposants en ridicule et l’audience ne demande que ça pendant les meetings et autres réunions politique.

En parlant d’humour, comment peut-on oublier l’incontournable Monsieur Malin… Cependant, il faudra songer à  limiter son temps d’antenne car les Mauriciens ont surtout eu marre de pubs répétitives des magasins “Courts”.

Revenons maintenant au sujet du jour.

Très prochainement, vous pourrez désormais visionner vos acteurs favoris dans les debats parlementaire qui seront diffusés sur le petit écran. Hey oui, annoncée depuis peu, les Mauriciens pourront assister aux travaux parlementaire afin de se tenir au courant de ce qui se passe dans le conseil des ministres l’assemblée nationale mais je me pose pas mal de questions sur cette décision, surtout si ces débats sont diffusés en directe.

C’est pas un secret, certains membres de l’assemblée nationale perdent bien souvent leur sans-froid et finissent par se lancer des injures et ils n’hésites pas à montrer leur colère. Et finalement, combien d’entre nous pourrons les supporter en sus des larges extraits déjà  diffusés dans le journal de 1930hrs, sans oublier les énièmes apparitions du Premier Ministre?

Dans le journal de 1930 d’aujourdhui (20 Avril 2011), moins d’une minute a été dediée à la tranche internationale pendant laquelle le presentateur a annoncé que Barack Obama a visité Facebook et aussi, qu’une compagnie aerienne de Hong Kong offre des lecons de Kung Fu à ses membres d’equipage.

Et devinez qu’est-ce-qui a monopolisé plus de 75% du journal télévisé? L’assemblée nationale bien sur!

Hello dear readers.

I might deceive you tonight since … there won’t be any criticism (at least from me) about the new MBC singing competition, the Orange Family Antakshari. I had a much better video to watch, and it was that of the wedding of my sister.

However, I encourage you to leave a few words, in case you still watch the national television. I also heard that the broadcast of this tv program was much controversial because the concept being used was initially proposed by Emtel. The title would have been the “Emtel Family Antakshari”. Anyways, let forget about all this. Just enjoy your life

After the Star’s Person of the year 2010 given to Navin Ramgoolam, I officially announce that Infozen is the Worst show I saw on the national television during the year 2010, of course, from my point of view.

This post is especially for the Infozen team, whether technicians, hosts or management. Thanks to the useless new year’s eve tv schedule on MBC, I was compelled to watch the Infozen broadcast of tonight.

Let’s begin. The Infozen graphics team (as well as the whole MCB graphics dept) have always tried to keep updated by learning new video ”techniques’.

Tonight, we could visualise one of their new ‘effects’ which consisted of mirroring part of what was on the screen. Below, they mirrored the person who was talking. They even played with the ‘mirrored’ image, forgetting about ratios etc. (Sorry for the bad shot, it could have been worst if I missed it lol )

I simply can’t understand why they don’t keep things simple? Always putting fancy things here and there. Just to show that they succeeded in adding something new to the Mauritian tv, they use the same fancy thing abundantly, without any control!

Next, the technicians did something that has once again put the show to shame.

The scene is as follows :

Hosts talking in the background while video camera is filming them from a distance. And the worst part, you can see some kind of wheel which is (manually) driven in between the hosts and the camera. To give you a better idea, the wheel is rotated in front of the camera and you are supposed to put your eyes on test while trying to capture what’s behind the rotating wheel.

Damned! Is this thing supposed to enhance anything from the viewer’s point of view?

Finally, they boasted about their great rally which they organised a few months ago. Yeah, do you remember? The same show on which I blogged, as a regular road user. No? To recap, there were civillians dressed with fluorescent police jackets giving stopping cars and giving signals on roads and also, some stupid driver (Car License No# : J2222, hi to the driver!) who recently got his driving license (Someone said that in the comments) and yet, he is already showing off on the roads without applying the basics which he learnt. #FAIL to the organising team for letting such inexperienced drivers and letting anyone control road traffics during a road show!

Just sit down and enjoy their show (which might be available from their web site).

To sum up, INFOZEN is just a bunch of amateurs, watched by Mauritians just to kill time.

With these words, I wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011 and hope that the national television will improve and really entertain us. MBC should not be the “Default” television channels driven by politics but it should be The TV Channels chosen by Mauritians.

For all those fans of “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi” who abandoned watching the serial during the lost years, it is with enormous sadness that I announce that the famous “BA” will no more be seen on tv.

A few days ago, we learned with deep regrets the death of BA Virani who passed away last thursday, 04 November 2010,  in the familial house, Shantiniketan during the daily broadcast on MBC1. The funeral ceremony will take place in the old Shantiniketan house in the coming tv broadcast, scheduled for Tuesday 09 November 2010. The time will be communicated later since it depends on the amount of tv adverts to be broadcasted on this special day.

The 104yrs BA Virani is not only the oldest of all grandmothers ever existed in bollywood serials (4-5 generations) but she also survived numerous stages of the exciting and repetitious life as the eldest and most respected person of the Virani family. She has been dying slowly since years but very recently, she started to have premonitions and allucinations. Signs of her last days were evident since she kept hallucinating things, talking to herself and kept seeing her late husband. A few days before her last breath, she also requested her family members to bring her back to their old house so that she can remember those old times (in fact, they had loads of houses through the years).

A facebook memorial page has also been created for this event and over 1000 facebook members have already planned to attend the ceremony, glued in front of their tv sets.

We join to the whole thousands of addicted Mauritian tv spectators to transmit to Tulsi like to the whole Virani family and to the friends, our more sincere condolences.

A few days back, MBC came up with some “new” tv channels on its TNT frequencies and a new radio channel :

• MardarinMandarin (CCTV)
• Marathi (Doordarshan)
• Tamil (Doordarshan)
• Telegu (Doordarshan)
• Urdu (Pakistan)
• Tourism and Culture
• Best FM (Radio)

Rs100. This is the monthly MBC subscription fee that Mauritians have been paying monthly in their electricity bills for years now. Meanwhile, the following have been introduced on the island :

1. TNT [ Read blog article some time after I got it]
2. Improved web site with video streams [Read blog article]
3. 4 additional tv channels for myT in November 2008 [ More here]
4. And and and, their brand new studios (Anyone got a status?)

Express yourself!

I understand that many among you are fed up with the MBC, especially for broadcasting outdated content among others, but still, I would like you to share your views here.

1. Did anyone took take the initiative to configure and have a look at the new channels yet?
2. There has been a lot of talking done about the introduction of creole in schools etc.
   Why did not MBC set up a local entertainment channel in creole instead? I guess that this would have been too difficult for them since they have rarely been creative and innovative. What do you think?

The Mauritian population is watching one of the worst tv serials ever, filled with marriages, divorces, cheap relationships and ongoing betrayals among the family members themselves. My blogger friend Bhoot has recently written a nice article here. As far as I know, this serial is being broadcasted on the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation TV since at least year 1999.

Recently, the MBC has rescheduled the broadcast of the hindustani serials and consequently, “tulsi” is on our tv screens only 3 days per week, but 2 episodes on Tuesdays… At the end of the day, the result is the same. And the worst thing is that, MBC is now broadcasting the “Mahabharat” serial, already shown on TV years ago.

I seize this opportunity to recommend “Sarabhai vs Sarabhai“, on air every Thursdays at 19hrs.

Please spread the word

Finally, someone has got the guts put an end to this (at least, try to). He contacted me to share this petition link in order to collect the maximum of signatures. In addition to the petition, we also created a facebook page which we hope will grow very fast.

Vous aviez l’intention de passer du bon temps en famille en regardant un bon film?

Pas la peine d’allumer la télé, à l’affiche ce soir :

MBC 1 : HERO et sur Movie Channel : GROUND CONTROL (un vieux film de 1998 qui a été jouée à maintes reprises!)

Un constat

Depuis quelques temps déjà , 0 (zéro!) nouveaux films bollywoodiens sur le petit écran. Et quelques mois de cela, les mauriciens avaient droit à des films dont on n’avait jamais entendu parler.
Résultats : Tout le monde (excepté moi) dors déjà  depuis 21heures.

Plus de deux ans après le lancement du Movie Channel, et rien de nouveau sur la programmation. A force de regarder les mêmes films, on arrive à les connaitre par coeur.

La programmation de la télévision laisse à désiré! Par contre, j’aime bien écouter “casse dans tas!” en retournant à la maison tous les soirs.

La seule nouveauté apportée est leur nouveau site, powered by wordpress!

Quoi que la qualité de leur charte graphique initiale était médiocre à mon gout et leur serveur est toujours aussi lent. Je crois bien qu’il est grand temps de prendre une souscription aux télés privées, mêmes si je ne passe pas beaucoup de temps devant la télé. Au moins, je ne serai pas face à une télé qui reste éteinte la plus part du temps, comme en ce moment précis!

Et dire que le nouveau directeur général avait annoncé des changements !
